Statement
‘Outliers’ explores the concept of identity and our perception of each other.
The series covers subjects from different countries and presents one moment in their lives. Gender, family, age, environment, community, values, religion, social class, and many other factors have contributed to this exact moment. John Umina’s work explores the possibility of finding a shared experience in these alternative identities, or perhaps an aspect of ourselves, reflected back.
