Fox Creative Mentorship

We are thrilled to extend a mentorship program designed to help you bring your projects to life. We welcome all experience levels from beginners through to practicing artists. If you are looking to develop meaningful work or output an existing project we are here to help you produce something special.

We can provide guidance in conceptualisation, production, and output. Once the program is purchased, please email with some examples of your work and we will schedule our first meeting. We look forward to working with you soon.

Program Outline

The Fox Creative Mentorship is a program aimed at artists who are looking to create and output a body of work. Here at Fox, we have spent years working with artists to bring their projects to life through exhibitions, books, presentations and talks. Our highly regarded gallery, workshop programs and international tours have helped us build a wealth of knowledge about all stages of the artistic process. With 20 years of collective experience in commercial photography and film production, we can also cater towards those who are looking to move their career forward with a strong portfolio and industry information.

In this program, we will be meeting online to once a fortnight for 8 weeks to help guide participants through their ideas, work and outputting options. The Fox Creative Mentorship provides a brand new, digital space for artists of all skill levels to challenge themselves, construct and showcase boundary pushing bodies of work.

The program takes place over eight weeks and include:

  • 4 Zoom meetings
  • 3 weekly assignments
  • 3 fortnightly reviews
  • Inspiration/reading list tailored specifically for individuals to help them achieve their goals

Who will be operating?

The program will be delivered by Tom Goldner and Angus Scott. Tom and Gussi will be drawing from their backgrounds in the curation, gallery management and production of series based photographic work to help participants develop their practice, consolidate their ideas and sequence their work.

Is the program just for photography?

While we mainly have a focus in producing photographic work, we encourage participants to engage in alternative modes of storytelling including

  • Video
  • Audio
  • Written component
  • Alternative process
  • Drawing & illustration
  • Transmedia

What kind of output can I expect?

The program caters to artists looking to output work either physically within a traditional exhibition format or digitally within an online format. As we move towards a post-COVID world, we are especially interested in working with participants to push the boundaries of what we consider to be exhibition quality output. This can include exhibition, crossmedia and online space curation.

What we need from participants

  • Access to a computer with webcam and screenshare capabilities (we use Zoom as our default platform)
